Winter is finally starting to kick in which means wind, snow storms, and tree damage. When your trees are damaged by winter storms, clean up can be overwhelming. Sometimes trees are just damaged and should be assessed by an arborist to determine if they can be pruned or cabled and remain in good health or if they should be completely removed. Cracks can occur on the tree which oftentimes go unnoticed. An arborist has a trained eye to spot those cracks.

Never go near trees or branches that have taken down power lines. The power company must be contacted first to insure safety to homeowners and workers.

Recently, we removed this tree that brought down power lines and needed to have the remainder of the tree taken down. Power shut off wasn’t necessary in this situation because the power line was disconnected at the pole and therefore also disconnected from the power source. This is not always the case. It’s important to contact your power company and be directed by them first. We were able to get the tree taken down and cleaned up and put the homeowners mind at ease.

If you have any winter tree damage, we can assess it, recommend a course of action, and get the job completed to put your mind at ease as well.
